Deputy PM: Govt studying 2nd package of IT industry support
MOSCOW, Dec 23 (PRIME) -- The Russian government is considering new support measures for the IT industry, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said on Wednesday at a meeting.
The previous measures boosted production and was highly appreciated by the industry, Chernyshenko said.
“By the way, the second package of measures for the IT industry, which was prepared together with the industry’s representatives, is being studied,” the official said.
“It will speed up and strengthen economic incentives, create more advantages for the Russian companies, because the IT industry is the one where we’re among the forerunners and can really export these services, not only provide them inside the country.”
President Vladimir Putin offered in June a tax maneuver for the IT industry with an indefinite decrease of the payroll tax for the companies to 7.6% from the current 14% and of the corporate profit tax to 3% from 20%.
